Don Scott
Don Scott is an acoustic blues and slide guitarist, singer, and songwriter par excellence.
He raises the bar with his foot-stomping rhythms and finger-picking style in the tradition of the Mississippi Delta Icons, Piedmont Masters, Old School Jimmy Reed and Big Bill Broonzy.
A Minnesota native and Vietnam Vet, Scott's been performing for over 44 years at festivals and clubs with his band, the legendary Dust Bowl Blues Band. He also has had much success as a solo artist over the past 15 years performing throughout the US, Mexico and Europe, sharing the stage with many blues greats. In 2012 Scott hooked up with MN Blues Hall of Fame member "Harmonica" Curtis Blake forming a duo reminiscent of the great Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. A stellar performance at the 2012 Bayfront Blues Festival in Duluth earned them a standing ovation. Later that year, "Sure Thing," also released in 2012, was named "Best Self-Produced CD" by the Minnesota Blues Society and nominated for a BMA award in Memphis. His song, 'JP Morgan, Citbank Wells Fargo', has been nominated for Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame award for best original song 2014.'
