Miss Erica Brown is a bona-fide Blueswoman. She has worked with some of the finest artists in the world, and has shared stages with such heavyweights as B.B. King, Al Green, Delbert McClinton, Tab Benoit, Kenny Neal, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Bob Margolin, Janiva Magness, Todd Park Mohr (Big Head Todd) Billy Branch, “Mud” Morganfield, and Debbie Davies, to name just a few.

In early May 2016, Erica was approached by Todd Park Mohr, also known as Big Head Todd, of Big Head Todd and the Monsters, and was asked to “Lend Her Blues” to a track of Todd’s latest project for his side project “Big Head Blues Club”. The track was cut at E-Town Studio in Boulder, CO, and, along with Todd, also in attendance recording that day were Blues Giants Grammy Nominee Billy Branch, Mud Morganfield (son of Muddy Waters) and Chicago’s favorite son Ronnie Baker Brooks. The resulting Nationwide tour in Fall 2016 was a huge success! The accompanying CD effort, called “Way Down Inside-a tribute to Willie Dixon” is available on Pledge Music and iTunes! 

in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016, Erica has won the “Best Blues Singer-Female” Award from the Colorado Blues Society’s Members’ Choice Competition!

Some background on Erica:
From 1998-2008, as frontwoman for the Award-winning Erica Brown Band, Erica electrified audiences all over the Rocky Mountain region with the band’s brand of searing blues rock. The band won nearly every award the region offered, including Best Blues Band (Westword Magazine) Best Underground Blues Band (Denver Post) and The Rocky Mountain News’ Best of in the Blues Category. The band released two critically acclaimed CD’s, “Body Work” in 2000, and “Rough Cut Stone” in 2003.
Erica was dubbed “Denver’s Queen of the Blues”, a moniker that was used by the Altitude Network in their concert showcase feature “OnStage”, which was broadcast to five million households in ten western states in 2005.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, in 2011 she brought her Blues sensibility to seminal garage/punk band Barstool Messiah’s CD Bastards of Bacchus, as well as appearing in the legendary rap/punk band Warlock Pinchers’ Reunion Concert video, which also featured members of the Melvins.

In 2012 Erica was awarded the Five Points Jazz Festival’s Tribute Award for significant and lasting contributions to culture in the Five Points, Denver neighborhood and throughout the Region!

Erica’s musical resume is wide and varied, and not just limited to Blues! Her vocals were featured in the Sony Pictures movies, “The Fan”, with Wesley Snipes and Robert DeNiro in 1996, from her vocal contribution to Rock/Punk/Industrial pioneers Foreskin 500’s song “Deliver Me”. In 2006, she fronted the band and was the lead female vocalist of Foreskin 500 spinoff disco/electro/house music band Cherry Bomb Club, with the CD of the same name.

In 2000 and 2003, the Erica Brown Band released two critically acclaimed blues CD’s “Body Work” and “Rough Cut Stone” In 2005, she contributed to two tracks, and sang a duet with Soul legend Frankie Lee on Mr. Dan Treanor’s award-winning CD “African Wind” released by the Northern Blues Label. She lent her voice to tracks of the 2006 blues CD “Smoke and Mirrors” released by MojoHand Records. In 2008, Erica sang on the CDs “Beautiful Day” by Two-Time International Blues Challenge Winner Lionel Young, as well as stretching out into Americana on “Cipher” the internationally acclaimed CD by Slim Cessna’s Auto Club. She also contributed to a track on Rock Genius Xiren’s CD “Trip-R”. In 2011 and 2012, Erica laid her blues down on several tracks of Denver favorites Barstool Messiah’s CD’s “Bastards of Bacchus” and “Thirteen”, as well as contributing backup vocals to “Messiah Complex” the 2011 CD by Spools of Dark Thread’s frontman Chris Thomas.

In 2013, Erica’s effort with Dan’ Treanor’s Afrosippi Band, “Tangled Road” garnered the Band 3rd Place Honors in the International Blues Challenge sponsored by the Blues Foundation! That, along with the new CD, “Tangled Road Again” has Erica and Afrosippi on everybody’s front burner!! Erica is a busy lady, and shows no signs of slowing down!!
